We’ve been a bit crazy lately, and even thought the episodes continue, the blog has been a bit ignored. So here’s what’s up -

Brad continues to job hunt, hoping for a break soon.

Candace hasn’t had a day off in over 3 weeks. But we are grateful that an abundance of new clients is the biggest problem her company has.

The munchkins are still with us, waiting for their house to be finished. We’ll sure miss them when they move.

Does anyone want a 9 month old puppy? :P Just kidding! We love Link, but man is he ever a challenge at times!

So see? We’re still here, just a bit crazy right now. Make sure you catch the new episodes, and please contact us with anything you want to talk about. We love hearing from you!

We’re a week into this new idea.  7 days worth of ideas, and really making ourselves pay attention to what it is that makes up our daily life.  I have to say, it’s quite interesting, when you stop and watch it from an (as much as possible) objective position.

We sat down to dinner tonight, and Candace tells me that we should do the next edition of “Not a Podcast” after the kiddos are in bed.  So that said, keep an eye out.  Not a Podcast, Ep. 2 will be in your ear in just a while.  Tonight, we’ll be talking about life with kids and the perspective of the “pseudo step-mom”.

In the NaP tradition, we haven’t pre-planned this show at all, other than Candace telling me that she’d like to talk about the kiddos.  So cross your fingers and we’ll see what happens!

We all know it, we all say it, but this week I want to challenge you to pay attention to the little things that really do mean so much. The main thing might be to keep the lain thing the main thing…but it’s easy to forget to pay attention to the small stuff.

Thank you, Candace, for your ability to always keep an eye on the little things. You have an amazing way of making my day just by going through yours.

Birthday thoughts.

I turn 32 today.  I’ve often said that the 30’s have been, by far, the best years of my life.  I stand by this.  I’ve never been more comfortable with myself than I am at this very moment.

Candace and I get a good chuckle at each other, from time to time.  She makes “old” jokes toward me.  I, in turn, remind her of how much different she’ll be when she “grows up”.  It’s all in good fun, and a lot of positives have come from our age difference.

My thoughts, today, are of this – Keep each other young.  It makes no difference how old you are, or the difference between your ages.  Working each day to make the life of the other one better will keep you feeling young.  Seeing the positive influence that you have on one that you love is something that each of us should be able to experience.

So here’s my chance to also say thank you, to Candace.  Her role in my life, and in the life of our family, has been amazing.  She has challenged me to stay young, and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, even on days when I’ve felt particularly old.

For those of you who have listened to the first episode, you’ll know that Candace and I met through Twitter.  It seemed only fitting, then, that our site be heavily integrated with the microblogging service.

That said, we have a Twitter account, just for the project!  Head over and give us a follow.  You’ll find us on Twitter as @NotAPodcast.

A great night.

Laying in bed, 1 am. Playing with the Wordpress for Blackberry.

We had a great night, after a really long day. It’s times like these that make me especially thankful for her in my life.

Make sure that you’re taking the time to spend together. Ignoring that is a mistake that we’ve recently made, but we are making sure to fix.
